I utilize a Japanese style needling technique which incorporates gentle insertion of small thin needles and/or non-insertion methods. Although this painless needling technique brings about relatively slow and gradual therapeutic effect, it has been demonstrated that overall therapeutic outcome can be profound and long lasting. It also helps my patients relax and immerse themselves in ‘zen’ moment while facilitating their bodies’ own healing and rejuvenating process.
Also my treatment principle is founded on resolving underlying ‘root’ cause(s) of the disease. By identifying the relationship between symptom(s) such as pain, and the health state of internal organs and their network systems, I’d be able to assess how to treat the whole body as well as the chief complaint(s)/symptoms(s) the patient registers.
I strongly believe in the human body’s natural inherent ability to prevail against any odds. It’s my passion to support and strengthen it.
Gentle, pain-free, and non-intrusive, Funamizu-style Teishin Therapy shares the same principles as acupuncture, but uses a round-ended metal instrument instead of sharp needles. This therapy is ideal for infants, children, and the elderly, as well as for those that are sensitive to, or afraid of traditional acupuncture needles. It is effective in addressing emotional and psychological disorders, such as PTSD, depression, and anxiety.
Funamizu-style Teishin Therapy can deal with soft tissue problems, while also unraveling issues that reside at deeper layers and levels. It is therefore highly useful towards addressing digestive, neurological, hormonal, circulatory, and male and female reproductive issues.
This therapy can be used in combination with common acupuncture for an enhanced therapeutic effect. Kazuo Tateishi is the front-runner in applying this therapy in Western Canada, and currently, it can only be found in our clinic.
